A profession is what someone does for work. It’s like asking: “What’s your superpower job?”

Think of it like a costume party. Everyone wears different costumes based on their job!

der Arzt doctor (male) “Arzt” sounds like “art” - doctors are artists of healing!
die Ärztin doctor (female) Add “-in” for ladies!

Fun Fact: In Germany, 1 is the BEST grade and 6 is the worst! It’s the opposite of some countries!

The “-in” Rule for Female Professions

Almost every male profession becomes female by adding “-in”:
